7 months!

Month 7 has was a really busy month and full of milestones. Jet started sitting up on his own, crawling, feeding himself, drinking out of a sippy cup, and started walking around furniture! It's funny how nothing will happen one month, and then the next it all happens at once and you realize how fast they really grow up.

Jet went on his first camping trip and was amazing! He slept through the night, took naps like a pro, and loved the campfire and being outdoors.

He climbed up his first obstacle course using cheerios as a bribe :)

He celebrated his first Fathers Day! He got Daddy breakfast, a mug with the reasons he's a great Dad, a goody bucket, and this picture wrapped in a frame saying 'Just like Daddy'.

As I mentioned previously, he started feeding himself. We used this colored spaghetti as a sensory play activity, but he just wanted to eat it. Spaghetti is definitely one of his favorites but it makes SUCH a mess!

He also painted his first painting. We think it looks like Grandma on her windsurfing board :)

and he still loves the outdoors. Whenever he's fussy, all I have to do is take him outside and he'll entertain himself for hours, he loves it!

This month has been so much fun! He has grown so much and is showing so much personality. We just love this kid more and more every day!

6 months!

Month 6 for Jet was more about relaxing, enjoying the beginning of summer, and having a good time. He didn't reach a lot of milestones, but had a lot of first experiences. He had his first Carousal ride at Riverfront Park in Salem with Auntie Shaylee, Graciee, Sophie, Carter, and Jill.

He also went down his first slide... he wasn't too interested then, and he still isn't :)

He went to his first lake, Blue Lake, and loved it! He went on his first boat ride, wore his first life jacket, and celebrated my 26th Birthday! This kid loves to be outside, I've never seen him more happy in any other environment.

He drove his first remote control car. Well, Dad's remote control car that he claimed to buy for Jet :) he loved watching it roll around on the carpet.

and he made his first Mother's Day card. I LOVED it! My child is so creative!

The big thing we learned this month was how good he is when we're out and about. He loves seeing new places and new faces and is so great outside. He's going to be our little nature baby.

5 Months Old!

I had to double check a few times that all of these pictures were from the last month. I can't believe how much Jet has learned and how fast he is growing. Mike and I were just talking the other night about how  much we love this stage. He is so enjoyable, funny, and entertaining.

Jet started eating baby food this month! He's tried bananas, peaches, squash, oatmeal with bananas, and oatmeal with mixed fruit. He LOVES the squash and always wants more when he's finished. He also tries to feed himself which makes for a very messy dinner time.

And my favorite milestone: He can hold his bottle! He also had his first sippy cup this month. He likes it, but he tries to roll over and drink it which doesn't work out very well.

He sat up for the first time in a restaurant high chair! At the end he got tired and started leaning over, but he did pretty well. It was new and exciting for him, and it gave Mommy and Daddy about 10 minutes to scarf down our food :)

And the last milestone... He can sit up unassisted in his boppy pillow.

And now for his firsts. Jet had his first Easter! He got a toy truck with sand toys, an Easter outfit, swim trunks, a stuffed bunny, a guitar toy, and some baby treats. He really likes the baby treats but he still acts like they're new every time he eats one. It's pretty hilarious! He also had his first Zoo trip that day :)

This month he also had his first overnight Coast trip. He did really well at the hotel, loved the animals at the aquarium and only took a 15-20 min nap while we were there. The sea otters seemed to be his favorite since they were the most active. He went to his first Lighthouse, and went swimming for the first time! The water was a little cold so we didn't stay in long but he didn't seem bothered at all.

I know I say this every time, but he is just SO cute! He's the best baby, we never have any problems, and he just loves life. He makes us so happy!

We love you Jet,
Mommy and Daddy

4 months

This month has been so much fun! It's crazy how infants magically turn into babies at 4 months, but it's my favorite time. Jet has become such a kid and is so great at expressing himself. He loves his fist. I'll give him his binky and then a few minutes will hear sucking noises only to find that he spit the binky out and started chomping on his fingers instead.

Or his toys...

Or his toy AND his binky.

Jet also started eating solids this month. We started with bananas and he loved them! Then we tried peaches, and it took a few tastes before he wanted those, and then he LOVES this fruit thing that Grandma got him. We can place any kind of fruit in the mesh and he just chows down.

He plays in the Johnny Jump-up too! He doesn't jump yet, but he twirls around, and that's perfectly fine with him.

He can also sit up straight in his saucer/bouncer thing and is interested in all the toys and noises.

With the weather getting nicer, we've started to go on a lot more outings and Jet is loving the fresh air! He's totally happy riding on Daddy...

But he's also REALLY good in the stroller now too! Hallelujah!

And just look at this face. I just want to kiss him all day :)

It's getting to be so much fun getting to know his personality. He is SUCH an amazing kid! So happy calm, and loving. We are so lucky to be his parents.

3 Months

Jet is 3 months old and is developing quite the personality! He is SO smiley, especially in the mornings. I just look at him and he giggles. We took him to see the women at his Grandma Wilson's work and he was blushing and smiling and flirting up a storm. He loves attention!

He also became a lot more interested in his toys. He loves his play mat and talks to the toys... in this pic, he's talking to the giraffe. He can hold toys now too, and of course EVERYTHING goes into his mouth! His favorite toys right now are his monkey rattle and taggie blanket.

He LOVES his Daddy! By the time Mike gets home, he wants nothing to do with me and makes Mike hold him until bedtime. I've had to feed Mike his dinner a few times, but Jet's just so cute and cuddly with him that it's totally worth it!

And his neck is even stronger. He's starting to push up on his elbows. He still loves to stand and is starting to lift one leg at a time like he's ready to walk. He can sit up pretty well on the couch if he's being supported, but is still a little too wobbly to sit up by himself.

He gets cuter every day and gets just a little more personality. He's happy, cuddly, and so loving. We just love this little man!

Our Story

I just realized that not many people know how Mike and I met or came about and the reason is that we kept it a secret for so long, but we had to let it out when Olivia passed away. I met Mike at my last job working in a Financial Aid office. I think I was stuffing envelopes or something when he came in, and I remember thinking how cute he was but that there was no way he was single. He sat down, got settled, and turned to our boss Shauna and asked how her weekend was and I responded. Haha, I was SO embarrassed when I realized that he wasn't talking to me. He ended up training me so I got to know him a little more and found out that he had a girlfriend so I left it at that.

I remember him fighting with this girl every day. He would take his cell conversation outside and argue with her for an hour and then ask for my advice. They eventually broke up, and then I found out I was pregnant. I took my the pregnancy on my lunch break... bad idea. I went back to work, but couldn't focus so I finally went in to talk to Mike. I told him that I was pregnant and he asked if I wanted to go for a walk. We walked around the building and talked about it for a while and he convinced me to go home, so I did. We hung out a couple of times after that... once at his place watching 'Look who's talking' and eating a ton of junk food, and once at the coast. During the coast trip I realized that I liked him and got scared. I didn't want to like him more and then have it not work out due to the pregnancy or us working together (I needed my job more than ever), the timing was just really bad. After that, we stopped hanging out after work but continued to be really good friends at work.

Eventually he started hanging out with his ex girlfriend and would tell me about his dates with other girls and I found myself really not caring. Hormones will do funny things to girls when it comes to being attracted to guys. I really had no desire to date him anymore and it really was all about being friends. He was starting to know me better than anyone and was always there when I needed him to bring me gas when I ran out or needed to vent, and he had a drawer full of treats perfect for a pregnant woman. People at work would ask why I didn't date him, and to be honest the thought made cringe, he was more like a brother now.

I really started missing him when I was on my maternity leave, but we would IM and he would let me know how everyone was doing. He decided to come down one night to take Livvy and I to dinner. It was nice and it was really good to see him... he actually made me excited to go back to work! When I went back to work everything was different. I wanted to look good every day, I would get jealous when he would talk about his ex, and I would even blush and get butterflies when we talked.

I can't remember how it came up but the week after the 4th of July I asked him to go to the Coast with Livvy and I and he said yes. I didn't really think that he wanted to go, but didn't care at the same time, I was really excited and I knew that we would have fun. We never run out of things to talk about and talked the entire way there while Olivia slept. That was the most fun, besides the first time we went together, that I've ever had. We put a blanket on the sand and he took so many pictures of Olivia and I without me even asking. We played frisbee while Olivia slept, had some lunch, and listened to music. Then we decided to find some dinner and dessert and went home. When we got back to my house I didn't want him to leave, and was already excited to see him the next day. He was so good with Olivia and he's always been good to me.

Our first official date and first kiss was the weekend after that, and we became official the next week when I got asked out on a date, and wasn't sure if I should go. It's been a crazy ride but I couldn't imagine a better guy to go on it with and I can't wait to be his wife!!

Family Photos

Yesterday we went to Uncle Clayton and Aunt Diane's house for dinner. We were expecting to eat, visit, and show Jet off but ended up having a photo session instead. Thanks Diane, we love them!! Here are some of our fave's:
