4 months

This month has been so much fun! It's crazy how infants magically turn into babies at 4 months, but it's my favorite time. Jet has become such a kid and is so great at expressing himself. He loves his fist. I'll give him his binky and then a few minutes will hear sucking noises only to find that he spit the binky out and started chomping on his fingers instead.

Or his toys...

Or his toy AND his binky.

Jet also started eating solids this month. We started with bananas and he loved them! Then we tried peaches, and it took a few tastes before he wanted those, and then he LOVES this fruit thing that Grandma got him. We can place any kind of fruit in the mesh and he just chows down.

He plays in the Johnny Jump-up too! He doesn't jump yet, but he twirls around, and that's perfectly fine with him.

He can also sit up straight in his saucer/bouncer thing and is interested in all the toys and noises.

With the weather getting nicer, we've started to go on a lot more outings and Jet is loving the fresh air! He's totally happy riding on Daddy...

But he's also REALLY good in the stroller now too! Hallelujah!

And just look at this face. I just want to kiss him all day :)

It's getting to be so much fun getting to know his personality. He is SUCH an amazing kid! So happy calm, and loving. We are so lucky to be his parents.

3 Months

Jet is 3 months old and is developing quite the personality! He is SO smiley, especially in the mornings. I just look at him and he giggles. We took him to see the women at his Grandma Wilson's work and he was blushing and smiling and flirting up a storm. He loves attention!

He also became a lot more interested in his toys. He loves his play mat and talks to the toys... in this pic, he's talking to the giraffe. He can hold toys now too, and of course EVERYTHING goes into his mouth! His favorite toys right now are his monkey rattle and taggie blanket.

He LOVES his Daddy! By the time Mike gets home, he wants nothing to do with me and makes Mike hold him until bedtime. I've had to feed Mike his dinner a few times, but Jet's just so cute and cuddly with him that it's totally worth it!

And his neck is even stronger. He's starting to push up on his elbows. He still loves to stand and is starting to lift one leg at a time like he's ready to walk. He can sit up pretty well on the couch if he's being supported, but is still a little too wobbly to sit up by himself.

He gets cuter every day and gets just a little more personality. He's happy, cuddly, and so loving. We just love this little man!

Our Story

I just realized that not many people know how Mike and I met or came about and the reason is that we kept it a secret for so long, but we had to let it out when Olivia passed away. I met Mike at my last job working in a Financial Aid office. I think I was stuffing envelopes or something when he came in, and I remember thinking how cute he was but that there was no way he was single. He sat down, got settled, and turned to our boss Shauna and asked how her weekend was and I responded. Haha, I was SO embarrassed when I realized that he wasn't talking to me. He ended up training me so I got to know him a little more and found out that he had a girlfriend so I left it at that.

I remember him fighting with this girl every day. He would take his cell conversation outside and argue with her for an hour and then ask for my advice. They eventually broke up, and then I found out I was pregnant. I took my the pregnancy on my lunch break... bad idea. I went back to work, but couldn't focus so I finally went in to talk to Mike. I told him that I was pregnant and he asked if I wanted to go for a walk. We walked around the building and talked about it for a while and he convinced me to go home, so I did. We hung out a couple of times after that... once at his place watching 'Look who's talking' and eating a ton of junk food, and once at the coast. During the coast trip I realized that I liked him and got scared. I didn't want to like him more and then have it not work out due to the pregnancy or us working together (I needed my job more than ever), the timing was just really bad. After that, we stopped hanging out after work but continued to be really good friends at work.

Eventually he started hanging out with his ex girlfriend and would tell me about his dates with other girls and I found myself really not caring. Hormones will do funny things to girls when it comes to being attracted to guys. I really had no desire to date him anymore and it really was all about being friends. He was starting to know me better than anyone and was always there when I needed him to bring me gas when I ran out or needed to vent, and he had a drawer full of treats perfect for a pregnant woman. People at work would ask why I didn't date him, and to be honest the thought made cringe, he was more like a brother now.

I really started missing him when I was on my maternity leave, but we would IM and he would let me know how everyone was doing. He decided to come down one night to take Livvy and I to dinner. It was nice and it was really good to see him... he actually made me excited to go back to work! When I went back to work everything was different. I wanted to look good every day, I would get jealous when he would talk about his ex, and I would even blush and get butterflies when we talked.

I can't remember how it came up but the week after the 4th of July I asked him to go to the Coast with Livvy and I and he said yes. I didn't really think that he wanted to go, but didn't care at the same time, I was really excited and I knew that we would have fun. We never run out of things to talk about and talked the entire way there while Olivia slept. That was the most fun, besides the first time we went together, that I've ever had. We put a blanket on the sand and he took so many pictures of Olivia and I without me even asking. We played frisbee while Olivia slept, had some lunch, and listened to music. Then we decided to find some dinner and dessert and went home. When we got back to my house I didn't want him to leave, and was already excited to see him the next day. He was so good with Olivia and he's always been good to me.

Our first official date and first kiss was the weekend after that, and we became official the next week when I got asked out on a date, and wasn't sure if I should go. It's been a crazy ride but I couldn't imagine a better guy to go on it with and I can't wait to be his wife!!

Family Photos

Yesterday we went to Uncle Clayton and Aunt Diane's house for dinner. We were expecting to eat, visit, and show Jet off but ended up having a photo session instead. Thanks Diane, we love them!! Here are some of our fave's:

Jet's 2 months old!

Jet's 2 months old! Here's a little about him this month:

He HATES the car! Hates it. He'll be asleep while we put him in his carseat and get him all bundled up, but the second the car seat hits the base he starts screaming. And he will scream and scream and scream. I don't know how a baby can cry for so long without falling asleep. Needless to say, we don't get out much.

Jet celebrated his first Christmas! He was awake and into all the action Christmas Eve, but slept all day Christmas.

He fell in love with Grandma. He can be such a stinker sometimes, but no matter what, he's always good for Grandma and loves to cuddle with her.

He had his first coast trip. He actually did pretty good on this car ride, and didn't even mind the wind! He's already a little Oregonian :)

He's now smiling and cooing like crazy! It's so easy to get him to smile and he thinks everything is funny. He's also afraid of everything! Every little cough, sneeze, or noise makes him jump and then cry.

And last, he is SO strong! He loves to stand up. Anytime he fusses, you can bet that he'll stop once you let him stand up. All we have to do is support him a little and he does the rest.

He makes our house a home, and we are loving getting to see little glimpses of his personality everyday. It will be exciting to see what next month brings!

Jet's 2 Month Well Child Visit

Poor baby had to get his first shots :( He did really well though! He cried a little at first, and then slept all day. He's doing great! We did have to switch to Soy milk because he's been having a few little tummy issues, but everything else is on track. Here are his stats:

Weight: 10 lbs 2.1 oz
Height: 1' 11"
And apparently he has a big head. (hopefully that means he has a big brain?)

I'll be adding more information about his milestones and personality when I write his two month post! :)

Jet's one month old!

Time has FLOWN by. Jet is already one month old and we can't believe it! Here are a few of his milestones:

When we gave him his first bath, he was not having it, he screamed the entire time. But now he loves baths and being undressed.

He's also become a tummy time champ! This kid has been so strong since the day he was born. Immediately he began lifting his head back so he could look at our faces and now, whenever we put him on his tummy he's eager to look up and see what's going on around him.

He's awake a lot more too, and he can follow things with his eyes. Every day they just get bigger and bigger and he becomes more and more curious and aware.

He is SUCH a good baby! He was having tummy issues for a while but seems to be better. He really only cries when he's hungry and still sleeps a lot! He's also indecisive... sometimes he needs his binky, sometimes he could care less. Sometimes he needs to be swaddled, and sometimes he loves to be sprawled out. And he's SO funny! He constantly has us laughing over sounds and faces that he makes. He has brought so much happiness and excitement into our home, and we couldn't love him more!
